Which recovery case are you in?
Pick the row that matches you. Each one starts differently, and sending the wrong opening message costs you a round trip.
| Your situation | What the desk needs first | Where to begin |
|---|---|---|
| Know the ID, still have the number, forgot the password | Your ID, sent from the registered number | Not recovery. Use the password reset guide. |
| Know the ID, lost the number | Your ID, your old number, your new number, and answers about the account | Case A below |
| Have the number, forgot the ID | A message from the registered number saying you do not know your ID | Case B below |
| Suspect someone else used the account | Your ID and what you noticed, sent as soon as possible | Case C below |
| Lost both the ID and the number | Everything you can remember, and patience | Case A, then B, and be ready for more questions |
Sky Exchange account recovery: case A, lost mobile number
This is the one we see most. The SIM was lost, the number was ported and the port failed, or a family member's phone was used to set the ID up and that phone has moved on. The ID still exists. What's missing is the proof that you are the person behind it.
- Message the desk from the number you want the ID moved to. Use the WhatsApp number listed on Official Channels. Say plainly that you have lost the registered number and want to recover your Sky Exchange ID.
- Send the ID and the old number. The team checks that the two belong together. If you're unsure of the exact ID, send your best guess and say so.
- Answer the account questions. The desk asks things only the owner would know: roughly when the ID was taken, what device you used, how you usually deposited, what the last activity looked like. There is no fixed script. The point is to build confidence, not to trip you up.
- Share what evidence you have. An old screenshot of the WhatsApp chat, a bank or UPI record showing a deposit you arranged with us, or the app still installed on your old phone all help. None is compulsory on its own.
- Wait for the desk to confirm the move. Once satisfied, the team links the ID to the new number and resets the password from its side. You get the login details in the same chat and log in on the platform.
- Change the password and keep the new chat. The new number is now the registered one. Do not delete this conversation; it is your proof next time.
What we will never ask during recovery
- Your password, old or new. We reset it; we do not need to see it.
- An OTP sent to your phone by anyone, for any reason.
- A payment to release, unblock or restore the account.
- Your UPI PIN, card number or bank login. Deposits are arranged in the chat, but those details never leave your banking app.
A recovery chat that asks for any of these is not with the Sky Exchange team. Check the number on Official Channels and read our guide on fake Sky Exchange sites.
Case B: you have the number but forgot the ID
Easier than it sounds. The ID is tied to your mobile number on our side, so a message from that number is already most of the proof.
Open WhatsApp on the registered phone, message the desk, and say you don't remember your Skyexchange ID. The team looks it up against your number, may ask one or two questions to be safe, and confirms the ID in the chat. If you've also forgotten the password, say so in the same message and the reset happens in the same conversation. Then log in on the platform as described on the Sky Exchange login page.
One thing people forget: if you ever had more than one ID, for example a demo and a full one, tell us which you're after. The ID vs demo ID guide explains why they are separate.
Case C: someone else may have used your account
Speed matters more than paperwork here.
- If you can still log in, change the password now. Do it on the platform before anything else. That alone ends most intrusions.
- Message the desk and say the account may be compromised. Send your ID and what you saw: a login you didn't make, activity you don't recognise, a balance that doesn't match. The team can pause the ID while it checks.
- Tell us how it might have happened. A shared phone, a password saved in a browser, a link you tapped from a message, a site that asked for your login. This helps the desk see what to look for and tells you what to fix.
- Wait for the review. The desk looks at the ID and tells you what it found and what happens next. Anything about balances is confirmed in the chat, not guessed at here.
- Lock the account down afterwards. New password, logged out everywhere, no saved credentials on shared devices. Our Sky Exchange security checklist walks through it.
Why recovery is slower than you would like
We know it can feel like an interrogation. The reason is that every recovery request looks identical whether it comes from the real owner or from someone who has picked up a few details about them. The questions and the evidence are the only way to tell the two apart, and the person we are protecting by being careful is you.
A few things make it go faster. Message from the number you actually want linked, not a friend's. Send everything you have in one message instead of drip-feeding. Answer questions directly. And stay in the one chat; starting a second conversation from another number resets the process.
If the chat stalls
Most recoveries finish inside the WhatsApp conversation. If yours doesn't, or you feel the desk has misunderstood something, the support page explains how to escalate by email to info@allfortheunion.com. Include your ID, both numbers, and a short account of what has happened so far. Our operator, Lazaro Duychak, reviews escalations personally.
